Pierre Lebeau ~ Lèvres
Created, directed, and performed by Pierre Lebeau
With the participation of Benoît Charest and Béatrice Bonifassi
Presented by the French Theatre of the National Arts Centre in cooperation with Quebec Scene
One actor. Musicians. Words. Pierre Lebeau, he of the imposing stage presence and rich, velvety voice, manipulates and reshapes the work of his favourite Quebec poets: Miron, Daoust, Gauvreau, Aquin. He inhabits the words, redecorates the poems, repaints the prose. Backed by jazzman Benoît Charest, the wizard behind the soundtrack of the award-winning Triplets of Belleville, Pierre Lebeau constructs a grand happening, an unforgettable evening where poetry and music intertwine in a whirl of emotions.
Presented in French.
